WHAT’S AN ICON STYLE LOGO

Historically, icon, from the Greek, is a religious painting 

in the tradition of Eastern Christianity.

Today, we apply the word to any image, person, object

or work of art that implies widespread significance.

In the icon + type logo, both pictorial and typographic elements are fused to create a more complex and visually richer composition. As you may notice, none of our categories are discreet and many logos straddle categories. Thus we have presented logos in multiple groups. You may decide which element dominates the composition.

By presenting both a pictorial and typographic elements in the same logo we greatly enhance the probability that the viewer will retain the image and any related data. Here, appropriate use of color becomes important to evoke the essence of the enterprise.
